Ruff Hikers | NYC Dog Hikes

About

Our mission is to provide city canines with the outdoors experience they need for supporting their holistic well-being. We are dog lovers and passionate hikers. We interact with our dogs throughout the entire experience starting from the moment they board the Adventuremobile. There are NO distractions: NO passive hiking. We love and embrace nature. We hike with our dogs and help build the excitement for them. Our groups are kept small so each pup can receive the attention they need to fully thrive in the setting. Through rocky paths and mossy ones, the hikes last 3-4 hours. Dogs get to play, swim, explore and break for this duration. Each hike is tailored accordingly to the day's group.

We drive right to you!

Servicing the entire Manhattan area.

(All other boroughs have an additional round-trip transportation fee of $20 per hike.

Please inquire if we service your out-of-Manhattan area.)

Pick ups are from 8:00 to 10:00 am.

Drop offs are around 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

Leashing Options

An off-leash outing gives your dog the true freedom to explore, play and get the most out of the experience. We do also offer a leashed option for those who wish to have their dogs secured throughout the hike; however, it is not recommended singling out a dog to stay on a leash for group hikes; instead, we recommend scheduling a private hike for those requests. All off-leash requests will go through a three-step process to assure proper safety protocols.

1. Introduction

Dogs are kept on a short leash for the start of the hike.

2. Testing Recall

Recall is put to the test while let loose on a 26-foot lead.

3. Total Freedom

Off-leash with/without GPS tracking collar.

We are certified in Pet First Aid

by the American Red Cross.

Safety is top priority.

All dogs must 9+ months of age and be up-to-date on their rabies vaccine; we strongly recommend vaccinating them for lyme and leptospirosis.
